Judith Kegan Gardiner Biography by
Judith Kegan Gardiner (2000)
I worked
in the Circle Women's Liberation Union chapter of CWLU to help found
a Women's Studies program at the University of Illinois at Chicago
and to support childcare organizing. I still teach at UIC in the English
Department and the Gender and Women's Studies Program.
I'm an
editor of the interdisciplinary journal Feminist Studies; I
also edited the books Provoking Agents: Gender and Agency in Theory
and Action and the forthcoming Masculinity Studies and Feminist
Theories: New Directions. My current scholarship centers on twentieth-century
writing by women and on masculinity in feminist theory.
